The Serra Clubs of Orange County have established the Msgr. John F. Sammon Fund in memory of our
beloved chaplain and our everlasting inspiration.
The purpose of the Fund is to advance and support vocations to the Roman Catholic priesthood and
the religious life, and in particular for the support of seminarians of the Diocese of Orange.
The Fund has been set up as a sub-fund within the Orange Catholic Foundation ("OCF") and is entitled
to its Sec. 501(C)(3) status.
Donations can now be made to the the Fund. Checks can be written to the Msgr. John F. Sammon Fund or
to the Orange County Catholic Foundation with the Msgr. John F. Sammon Fund identified on the memo
line. Checks should be sent to:
Orange Catholic Foundation
P.O. Box 14084
Orange, CA 92863-1484
For further information please contact (714) 282-3021 or info@oc-foundation.org
The OCF is separate and distinct from the Diocese of Orange. Any donation made to the Msgr. Sammon
Fund will be sequestered in a separate account from an accounting standpoint. We have the corpus
of funds built up and we are now
working with the Diocese of Orange Vocations Office and Religious & Consecrated Life Office in
giving grants for vocation work. The monies are being invested along with other OCF funds, but the
accounting for the Fund will still be separate. Distributions are made to recipients suggested by
a Serra Club Committee in the name of the Fund.
Others who fondly remember Msgr. Sammon are asked to consider making donations or providing for
bequests to the Fund in their will. See above for more information.
